Internet Archive Faces Data Breach and DDoS Attacks, Goes Read-Only

The Internet Archive has been hit with both a data breach and DDoS attacks this weekend. The Wayback Machine is currently online, but only in a read-only state for users to browse previously captured versions of web pages, and may need to be taken down again for further maintenance. An attacker compromised the website and got away with 31 million records from an authentication database containing user details.
