macOS Sequoia 15.2 Breaks Bootable Backups for Third-Party Utilities

A claimed bug in macOS Sequoia 15.2 has stopped backup tools like SuperDuper! from creating bootable backups – but some think it may be a deliberate move by Apple.

The developer of SuperDuper!, a backup app, says that since macOS Sequoia 15.2, the app has been unable to create bootable backups due to changes in a feature called Replicator. The issue affects creating a backup that users can start up their Mac from but doesn't affect backing up data to external drives.
