Verizon Shuts Down Message+ App, Pushes Users to Google Messages

Verizon has officially shut down its Message+ app on Android in favor of Google Messages, but users aren't happy about the change, especially as the old app has blocked access to messages entirely.

Verizon has officially shut down its Message+ app on Android, pushing users to switch to Google Messages. The change was communicated over the past few months and Verizon recommends Google Messages as the replacement app for messaging. Users' SMS/MMS messages will remain in local storage and be accessible from within a replacement messaging app such as Google Messages.
