Apple expands research labs in China for new materials and technologies
Apple Inc said on Tuesday that it is expanding in China with new applied research labs, in its latest move to tap into the country's manufacturing and research and development prowess to produce the best products.

Apple is expanding its research presence in China with a new lab in Shenzhen and an expansion of its existing facility in Shanghai. The primary reasons for the overseas labs are to recruit local talent and partner with academic institutions. Having a research lab near many of Apple's suppliers will ease collaboration between research and production teams as they attempt to solve manufacturing problems or set up test production runs using new materials.
