Apple set to announce partnership with Google's Gemini chatbot this fall
Apple is rumored to announce a partnership with Google this fall, integrating the Gemini chatbot into its upcoming operating systems iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. This follows last month's announcement of Apple's partnership with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT. While Apple Intelligence will initially use the company’s on-device and online language models for tasks such as answering questions, summarizing text, and generating images, if unable to answer a question it may ask user permission to turn to one of these chatbots. Craig Federighi said that support for other chatbots could be added at some point; indeed multiple reports had already suggested Apple was in talks with Google and Meta about such integrations.
