Apple Teams with Anthropic’s Claude AI for Internal Xcode Integration, Paving the Way for Smarter Development

Apple is reportedly integrating Anthropic’s AI assistant, Claude, into Xcode, its integrated development environment, to enhance internal coding workflows. This partnership aims to accelerate and modernize product development within the company. While the integrated version of Xcode is currently intended for internal use, Apple has not yet decided whether it will be released publicly. The initiative aligns with Apple's broader efforts to boost AI capabilities, including a previously previewed feature called Swift Assist. Anthropic, backed by an $8 billion investment from Amazon, specializes in enterprise solutions and recently launched Claude Code, a command line tool for coding assistance. If announced, the Xcode integration with Claude could be unveiled at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference scheduled for early June.
