Apple's Commitment to Privacy with the Launch of AI Features
Apple's new AI features will reportedly emphasize on-device processing and strong built-in security guarantees for privacy. The company says its approach prioritizes processing on devices rather than sending data to the cloud wherever possible, a method that can help boost both speed and security.

Apple Intelligence, set to launch later this month, will bring a first wave of AI features to iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Apple has built its AI features to prioritise on-device processing for maximum privacy, with an 'on-device first' approach. For situations where external servers are needed for additional processing, Private Cloud Compute is designed to provide just as much security off device as on it. Later this year in iOS 18.2, Apple Intelligence will integrate the smarts of ChatGPT in two key places: Siri and writing tools.
