A patent granted to Apple describes a projector capable of displaying a mix of AR and VR content onto the walls and desk of an office or home without needing a headset or screen. The company has said low-res and hi-res content could be projected, and that it might be motorized to show content on different surfaces. This is not the first time that a patent has shown Apple working on this kind of system, but this appears to be the most sophisticated version yet seen. Visible light or infrared cameras could also be used to enable the projector to detect size, shape, and textures.
