Apple's Vision Pro Struggles: The Need for a Cheaper Model to Boost Developer Interest

Apple's Vision Pro has struggled to gain traction since its launch due to its high price of $3,500 in the US, which has pushed away not only customers but also developers who are essential for the platform's success.
The visionOS App Store had only 2,500 native apps by August and the development of new apps is slowing down with each passing month. Only 10 apps were introduced to the Vision App Store in September, down from the hundreds that arrived in the first two months of the device's launch.
Apple has cut shipment estimates for the Vision Pro from 800,000 units to 400,000 by 2024 and developers aren't interested in making apps for the platform due to its small user base and lack of some important features.
