Aqara Elevates Smart Home Integration with Major HomeKit and Matter Update

Aqara, a leading smart home vendor for HomeKit, has announced a significant update to its Matter integration with the release of Advanced Matter Bridging to all its Matter-compatible hubs. This feature allows Aqara's unique functionalities to work within third-party Matter platforms, enabling HomeKit users to create scenes and signals in the Aqara app that will appear as virtual devices in the Home app for use in automations. The update also enhances integration with over 50 types of Matter-enabled devices. Furthermore, Thread Border Routers by Aqara will soon support communication across the local network, a feature expected to launch in Q2 2025. This update is available through a new version of the Aqara Home app (v5.1.9) and firmware updates for its hubs.
