CalDigit Unleashes Thunderbolt 5 Power with New Element 5 Hub

CalDigit has introduced its first Thunderbolt 5 device, the Element 5 Hub, which features nine ports and supports a wide array of connectivity options. This hub includes four Thunderbolt 5 (80Gb/s) ports, two USB-C (10Gb/s) ports, and three USB-A (10Gb/s) ports. It offers host power delivery of up to 90W, making it suitable for high-power devices. For displays, the Element 5 supports up to 8K 60Hz on Macs that support 8K, dual 6K 60Hz on macOS, and dual 4K 240Hz with high refresh rates. The hub also features Thunderbolt 5's Bandwidth Boost, which can allocate up to 120Gb/s to displays when needed. On compatible Windows machines, it can support triple 4K 60Hz displays via a single port. Additionally, the Element 5 includes a 180W power supply that is smaller and more powerful than its predecessor, and it features 64Gb/s PCIe bandwidth for fast storage devices. The hub is best paired with new M4 Pro and M4 Max Macs but is also compatible with TB4, TB3, and USB-C Macs and iPads.
