Discover the Exciting Updates in Apple Maps for iOS 18

iOS 18 brings several new features and improvements to Apple Maps, including a saved places feature with personal notes, custom walking routes, and enhanced hiking features like topographic maps and offline hikes.
The saved places feature allows users to quickly save locations with a tap of the + button on their Maps listing. These saved places are accessible from the new Library menu, where you can also find your Guides, Pinned locations, and more. Users can search all saved places and sort them by Date added, Name, or Distance.
Another addition is the ability to create personal notes for each saved place, which will be visible every time the user views that location's Maps listing. This feature can help users remember important details about a specific location.
For those who prefer walking directions, iOS 18 introduces custom walking routes. Users can now choose their own route when getting walking directions to a destination. Custom routes can also be saved for reuse in the future, so there's no need to recreate them every time.
Lastly, Maps in iOS 18 has added features specifically designed for hikers, such as topographic maps with detailed trail networks including information for all U.S. national parks, offline access to thousands of hikes, and the ability to create custom hiking routes.
