Early iPhone Adopters: Committed to the Entire Ecosystem

Frequent iPhone upgraders are more likely to own additional Apple products such as iPads and Mac computers, according to data from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP). Around 67% of all iPhone buyers also own an iPad, while 36% own a Mac computer. However, among those who upgrade their iPhones within two years or less, the percentages rise to 69% for iPads and 42% for Macs. In comparison, only 62% of those who kept their iPhones for three years or more own an iPad, with just 29% owning a Mac. The cost and availability of alternatives could be one reason behind this trend, as iPads have a longer lifecycle than iPhones and are cheaper to buy. Additionally, the frequent upgraders may reflect overall spending on technology.
