The FIDO Alliance has published new specifications for passkeys that will allow users to import and export them securely. Currently, there is no secure way to move passkeys between different password managers. The new specifications establish the Credential Exchange Protocol (CXP) and Credential Exchange Format (CXF) formats for transferring passkeys and other types of credentials securely. 1Password has committed to supporting the new passkey import and export formats as soon as they become available.
