Find My Device App Update v3.1.277

The latest update to the Find My Device app introduces a revamped two-tab interface, enhanced location sharing capabilities, and improved device tracking features. Key updates include:

  • New 'People' Tab: This tab integrates Google Maps location sharing directly into the Find My Device app, allowing users to share their live location with others and see the locations of other users through a link or Google account. The 'People' tab is currently in beta but brings existing Maps functionality to the app.

  • Redesigned 'Devices' Tab: The app now displays a list of your devices and trackers on the bottom half of the screen, with a live location preview at the top. This design makes it easier to track devices immediately upon opening the app and is reminiscent of Apple's Find My app interface.

  • Live Location Feature: A new feature allows users to see their current device’s live location when looking at another device or tracker. This improvement enhances usability, especially when trying to locate a device relative to your position.

  • Improvements and Limitations: While the update brings significant improvements, it still lacks a way to reorder devices in the list, which can be inconvenient if you frequently need to track specific devices.

This update is part of Google's ongoing efforts to enhance the Find My Device app and bring more features to Android users. The rollout of version 3.1.277 has begun but may not be widely available yet.
