FTC 'Click to Cancel' Rule Makes Subscription Cancellations as Easy as Sign-Ups

The FTC's new 'Click to Cancel' rule will make canceling subscriptions as easy as signing up, preventing companies from deceptive tactics that keep customers locked in.

A new Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rule called 'Click to Cancel' will make it easier for customers to cancel subscriptions in 180 days. The rule requires that companies must allow customers to cancel a subscription online if they signed up for it online. FTC Chair Lina M. Khan said the rule would save Americans time and money who may be stuck paying for services they no longer want.
