Future iPhones to Feature 12GB RAM, Starting with iPhone 18 Pro Models

Future iPhones may come with even more memory, with reports suggesting that the iPhone 18 Pro models could feature 12GB of RAM, up from the current 8GB in the iPhone 16 line-up.

Future iPhones could have even more memory, with 12GB expected from next year. This year's entire iPhone line-up got 8GB RAM to run Apple Intelligence features. A previous report suggested that the high-end iPhone 17 Pro Max would get 12GB, and it now appears this may apply to both iPhone 18 Pro models. Ming-Chi Kuo previously suggested that only the larger model would get this extra memory, but it seems that both the 2026 Pro handsets will benefit.

The increased RAM is needed to support Apple Intelligence features. While this year all four iPhone 16 models got 8GB RAM, last year's entry-level iPhones has 6GB while the two Pro machines had 8GB. Only these older Pro iPhones have so far been given access to the AI capabilities.
