Instagram Makes a Move: Dedicated iPad App After 15 Years

Instagram's Long-Awaited iPad App
After 15 years, Instagram is finally developing a dedicated app for the iPad, according to a new report from The Information. Currently, iPad users can only access a zoomed-in version of the iPhone app, which provides a poor user experience. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri has previously cited lack of resources and priority as reasons for not developing an iPad app earlier.
The report also mentions that Meta, Instagram's parent company, is exploring various strategies to increase Instagram usage, especially in light of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding TikTok. While there is no official timeline for the release of the iPad app, its development signals a shift in Instagram's priorities and addresses longstanding user demands.
