Instagram Pushes Back Launch of New Video Editor 'Edits': Competing with CapCut and TikTok in 2023
Instagram has announced a delay for the launch of its new video editing app, Edits, which is set to compete with CapCut on mobile platforms. Initially promised for March 13, the app's release date has been pushed back to March 31. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri described Edits as a comprehensive tool for passionate video creators, featuring a dedicated inspiration tab, idea tracking, a high-quality camera, standard editing tools, and easy sharing capabilities with friends and on Instagram. The app also supports exporting videos to other platforms without watermarks. Edits will debut on iPhone first, with an Android version following soon after.
