iOS 18.1 with Apple Intelligence Launches in October - Expanding to More Languages Over Time

Apple Intelligence was announced for launch on October 18th with the release of iOS 18.1. This new AI suite will initially only be available to US English language users on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro devices as well as Mac or iPad users with M1 or later. Apple has committed to expanding support for additional languages such as Chinese, French, Japanese and Spanish by next year.
Apple Intelligence is set to include several AI-enhanced tools including:
- Notification summaries: Brief overviews of the notifications you've received.
- Email summaries: TL;DR versions of your emails, so you don't have to read them all.
- Reduce Interruptions focus: A customizable Focus mode that aims to reduce distractions without completely cutting off communications
- Clean Up image editing in Photos: An editing tool designed to make quick and easy touch-ups to your images.
The tool will be a free update for users and will roll out additional features over time, with some of the more advanced AI tools expected to launch by December.
