iOS 18.3 Introduces Smart Upgrades to iPhone 16's Camera Control with Enhanced Visual Intelligence

iOS 18.3 Introduces Enhancements to iPhone 16 Camera Control
Apple is set to release iOS 18.3, which includes significant upgrades for the Camera Control feature on the iPhone 16. The new update brings enhancements to visual intelligence, a feature introduced in iOS 18.2 that allows users to long-press the Camera Control button to access an AI-powered camera mode.
New Features in Visual Intelligence
- Event Addition to Calendar: The updated visual intelligence can now detect dates on posters and flyers and allow users to add these events directly to their calendar.
- Plant and Animal Identification: Another new feature is the ability to identify plants and animals, enhancing the utility of the camera for nature enthusiasts and educational purposes.
Integration with Apple Apps
The tie-ins between visual intelligence and other Apple apps are becoming more seamless. For instance, users can already use the camera to pull up Maps listings for businesses or restaurants by pointing their iPhone at them. The new calendar event addition feature is another example of this integration, which could lead to more useful integrations in the future.
Additional Updates
Besides these Camera Control enhancements, iOS 18.3 also includes changes to Apple Intelligence notification summaries and several bug fixes, including a fix for an issue with the Calculator app.
