OnePlus Watch 2 Faces Wear OS 5 Delay; Watch 3 Gets Shorter Support Window

OnePlus Watch 2 users will have to wait until Q3 2025 for the Wear OS 5 update, while the newer Watch 3 gets a shorter support window of just two years.

OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus Watch 2 will not receive a Wear OS 5 update until Q3 of 2025, which is at least July 2025. This comes after Google and Samsung rolled out the update to their respective devices in late 2024. Additionally, OnePlus's latest smartwatch, the Watch 3, will have a shorter support window of two years compared to the three-year commitment for the Watch 2. The reasons for these delays and changes in support are unclear, but it may be related to the complexity of updates due to the dual-architecture system used by OnePlus.
