Snapchat Camera Accessible from iPhone Lock Screen with iOS 18 Update

The Snapchat camera will soon be available from the iPhone Lock Screen thanks to the iOS 18 feature letting you swap out the standard Camera app and flashlight for apps or shortcut actions of your choice, but there's a catch - no filters! The lock screen allows users to take photos, but not add filters or post anything. For that, you'll have to unlock the phone with Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode and open the actual app.

The Snapchat camera will soon be available from the iPhone Lock Screen thanks to an iOS 18 feature that allows users to swap out the standard Camera app and flashlight for apps or shortcut actions of their choice. Apps need to add support for this feature, and Snapchat is doing so in an upcoming app update that is set to roll out later this week. When launched from the lock screen, Snapchat will open in a "Camera Only" mode which allows users to take photos but not add filters or post anything, as accessing those features requires unlocking the device.
