TikTok Makes a Comeback on Google Play Store After Brief US Ban

TikTok Returns to the Google Play Store
Following a temporary ban in the United States, TikTok is once again available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. On January 18, TikTok briefly shut down its services due to a new law banning the platform, but the ban was lifted within hours. Since then, though, TikTok had been absent from both app stores.
Bloomberg reported that TikTok has now returned to both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for new Android and iOS downloads. The app is also notifying users of this change via a pop-up message.
Google and Apple were previously required to remove TikTok from their app stores due to US legislation. A letter from US Attorney General Pam Bondi has assured the companies that the US government will not enforce the ban immediately. TikTok currently operates under an executive order granting 75 days to determine its future in the US, with a potential new ban possible in April if no additional legislation is enacted.
