Waze 5.4 Update Enhances Navigation with Heads-Up Display for Modern Vehicles

Waze's latest update brings navigation maps directly to the heads-up display in select vehicles, enhancing driver safety and convenience.

Waze has released version 5.4 of its navigation app for both Android and iOS, introducing the ability to display maps and directions on the heads-up display (HUD) or instrument cluster in supported vehicles via CarPlay and Android Auto. This feature enhances driver visibility by placing navigation information closer to the driver's line of sight, freeing up the car's main display for other tasks. The update is particularly useful for drivers of select BMW, Ford, Volvo, and Polestar vehicles, which support this functionality. Currently, the HUD integration displays maps and directions but does not include Waze’s road hazard reporting feature.
