Apple's Next iMac: Four Upgrades to Look Forward To
Apple is expected to announce its next generation iMac later this year. The update will see Apple introduce the M4 chip, which is based on TSMC’s second generation 3nm process. This should result in a roughly 20-25% performance improvement. In order to comply with European regulation around USB-C, we can probably expect the death of Lightning and the transition of all peripherals to USB-C as well. The base RAM amount will likely also see an increase from 8GB in M1 and M2 to at least 16GB across all configurations.
