Apple's sleep apnea detection feature for the Apple Watch, announced last month, is now available with iOS 18.1 beta 6. Users can enable the feature in the Sleep Settings within the Watch app if they have a compatible model (Apple Watch Series 9 and later or Apple Watch Ultra 2). The feature uses the watch's accelerometer to detect potential breathing disturbances during sleep. If it detects consistent signs of moderate to severe sleep apnea over a 30-day period, the user will be notified so they can consult with a doctor. Sleep apnea detection is available in over 150 countries.
