Long-time Apple Hardware Engineering Leader Dan Riccio Retires after 26 Years

Dan Riccio, Apple's long-time hardware engineering executive, is retiring after 26 years at the company. Most recently, Riccio led development of Apple Vision Pro and was one of its biggest advocates.

Dan Riccio, a long-time Apple hardware engineering executive, is retiring this month after 26 years at the company. Most recently, he led the development of Apple Vision Pro. Riccio first joined Apple in 1998 and became its hardware engineering chief in 2012, leading teams across multiple product launches. In January 2021, Riccio shifted to a new role focusing on a new project, and John Ternus took over as head of hardware engineering. Following Riccio's departure, Mike Rockwell will continue to lead the Vision Products Group, while John Ternus will oversee the group.
