M1 iMac Users Reporting Display Failures with Dark Horizontal Lines
Growing number of iMac users report display failures on their M1 iMacs, typically around two years after purchase

An unknown but growing number of iMac users are reporting display failures on their M1 iMacs, typically around two years after purchase. Reports first surfaced in October 2023, with users noticing persistent horizontal lines appearing on the screen which impairs usability. The issue seems to stem from a cable powering the LCD screen that starts to burn out after about two years of use. Some customers have been quoted between $650-$700 for repairs.
