  • Monthly: $6.99 (up from $5.99)
  • Yearly: $69.99 (up from $49.99)
  • Lifetime: $249.99 (up from $119.99)

This marks the first price increase for Plex Pass in over a decade, with the company citing rising costs and a commitment to enhancing both Plex Pass and support for personal media.

Key Updates for Personal Media Users:

  • Common Sense Media Integration: Featured extras for Plex Pass holders.

  • Open API and Custom Metadata Agents: Enhanced server integrations and metadata management.

Remote Streaming Changes:

  • Remote Playback Paywall: Starting April 29, remote playback will no longer be a free feature. However, if the server owner has a Plex Pass, all users with access can stream remotely without additional charges.
  • Remote Watch Pass: A new subscription option for individual users who want to stream remotely from any personal media server. Available at $1.99/month or $19.99/year.

Mobile App Updates:

  • No More One-Minute Playback Limitation: The one-minute playback limitation on mobile apps will be removed, and local network streaming will remain free in the new mobile Plex experience.
