Wear OS Updates Prioritize Wi-Fi and Cellular Networks for Faster Downloads
A new version of Google Play services on Wear OS will see watches download updates using Wi-Fi and cellular networks instead of Bluetooth, as mentioned in the changelog for version 24.49 under "System Management". The update aims to provide faster downloads by prioritizing Wi-Fi and cellular networks over Bluetooth. If Wi-Fi isn't available, users can choose their preferred network. This could potentially eliminate the need to turn off Bluetooth to force Wi-Fi connectivity. However, it's not clear whether this feature will be applicable only to Pixel Watch or all Wear OS devices.
