T-Mobile Announces Price Hikes for Older Plans: What You Need to Know

T-Mobile is set to announce price increases of $2 or $5 per line for older plans, effective June 5th, to keep up with rising inflation and costs.

T-Mobile is set to announce a price increase for some of its older plans, effective June 5th. The increases will be $2 or $5 per line, according to an internal memo from Jon Freier, president of T-Mobile’s consumer group. The memo states that the latest Go5G plans and customers under the Price Lock guarantee are exempt from these changes. Affected customers on Simple Choice and ONE plans, as well as potentially older Sprint plans, will receive notification texts on May 23rd between 9am Eastern and 7pm Pacific time. T-Mobile previously faced issues when it attempted to move customers to more expensive plans in a small-scale test, which was later abandoned. The company’s Un-Contract Promise, offering to cover the final month's service charges for dissatisfied customers who leave, ended for new plans after April 28, 2022.
