T-Mobile Hikes Prices by $5 for Legacy Plan Users; Here’s What You Need to Know

T-Mobile hikes prices by up to $5 per line for legacy plan holders, citing rising costs over the past several years.

T-Mobile is implementing new price increases for many of its legacy plans starting on April 2, 2025, with hikes ranging up to $5 per line. The changes primarily affect subscribers who are grandfathered into older T-Mobile plans such as Magneta MAX and T-Mobile ONE. Affected customers will receive a text message notification. According to an internal memo from T-Mobile president Jon Freier, the price increases are due to rising costs over the past several years. Customers on T-Mobile’s newer Go5G family of plans remain unaffected. The company claims that even with these changes, their prices remain competitive, offering savings compared to AT&T and Verizon.
