T-Mobile has been fined $15.75M and agreed to spend the same amount again on upgrading its security after a succession of data breaches saw millions of customers have their personal data exposed.
T-Mobile has been fined $15.75 million and agreed to spend a further $15.75 million on cybersecurity enhancements following a series of data breaches impacting millions of customers. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) described the settlement as 'groundbreaking' and says it will serve as a model for future handling of similar incidents. T-Mobile also faces a separate fine of $60 million for failing to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive customer data and failing to report this.
